Is saffron worth the expense? Oh, is it ever

Congressional budget bill – saving or losing benefits?

House Speaker Paul Ryan has made comments that he plans to reduce programs within Medicare that will bring costs down. Does this mean that by reducing cost it also means that Medicare will not pay for all the medical care all seniors need? Part of this new bill that was passed is called "The Chronic Act" (TCA). At first glance and without knowing all the little details hidden in the 700 page budget bill, will the TCA really allow for more medical care for individuals with chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart disease and cancer – especially access to medications that are still in trials but not yet approved by the FDA? Who knows all the details? When will this new coverage be shared with current Medicare patients? When will these benefits become available? Read more
