Water woes | From the Newsroom

The weekends are packed!

Montrose just closed the books on another jam-packed weekend.

Saturday brought us Montrose Regional Health's Health Fair, and your opportunity for hearing screenings, skin checks, blood draws and discussions with experts if you happened to get an early draw. I did the latter, and, wow, was the turnaround fast! The results were emailed to me the next day. (And all is well.) I missed the actual fair though, because ...

It was also FUNC Fest! Fun on the Uncompahgre came back, and on the perfect day to sit near the whitewater of the Montrose Water Sports Park — or in it, as I am wont to do, and indeed, did again — or check out all the booths and activities in between watching paddle board and kayak competitions or catching some tunes, dances, and a powwow. Down the road was the Ridgway Rendezvous arts and crafts show, where I picked up some great gifts for others, from indie artists, on Sunday.

We've got more coming up, too: Saturday the 15th is both Youth Appreciation Day and the Monte de Rosas Fiesta. Then the Saturday after, the 22nd, it's time for the Olathe Sweet Corn Festival. Yum!

Enjoy the summer — Katharhynn, from the Newsroom.
