Go vote!

We're in the home stretch now, with the election just a day away.

If you haven't voted yet, now is the time to take your ballot in person down to the county clerk's office at 317 S. Second St. You can drop it in the secure ballot box outside; take it inside during the voter service polling center's open hours; or go inside and cast your ballot in person using a voting machine.

It is now too late to mail your ballot - which we mention, because every election year, we have seen someone walk up to the clerk's office after 7 p.m., and have watched surprise, disappointment, even anger when they are turned away. Be sure to deliver your ballot, or vote in person before 7 p.m. Tuesday.

As of late last week, more than 1.33 million ballots had been returned statewide, which sounds impressive, but reflects only a fraction of the about 4 million registered voters in Colorado.

• Info for Montrose County here.
• Check the status of your ballot (whether received) at https://ballottrax.coloradosos.gov/voter/
• Register, view your registration, see General Election info and other resources at Go Vote Colorado

As a final note, the Wednesday Daily Press will be printed before election results are in, so be sure to visit us at montrosepress.com.

Voting is both a core right and a duty. Exercise yours!
