Telluride Ski Patrol doesn't want to strike. But as contract negotiations with Telski go down to the wire — literally, with the deadline falling on Dec. 6, the ski season's opening day — Telluride Professional Ski Patrol Association President Graham Hoffman says a strike may be brewing.
"Our plan is to come to a contract, but at the same time, their plan is to line up scabs," Hoffman said. "They seem to be preparing an alternate reality without us."
The Montrose County School District Board of Education will is about to look drastically different. In the wake of November's election, the board will be seating three new members Dec. 2, in addition to returning incumbent. All four of these candidates have a couple of things in common. They all won their respective races rather handily and all four were also cast as the conservative choices for school board and endorsed by the local Republican Central Committee, which advertised on behalf of the quartet.
