Good afternoon, Montrose.
It's a bright and sunny Tuesday, and we're looking forward to the rest of the week. Justin here. We've got a few notes for today's newsletter.

May The Fourth Be With You. Get it? Happy Star Wars Day, everyone. May 4, because of that little wordplay, has become synonymous with Star Wars. Do you have any cool Star Wars-related memories? Share them with us. If not, just let us know which is your favorite of the movies.

Bowman leaves City Council: Montrose City Council is expected to fill a vacancy tonight after Roy Anderson resigned. Now council members will have another seat to fill as Dave Bowman handed in his letter of resignation Monday. He said it was due to the time commitment required. He's also the subject of a complaint with the Colorado Independent Ethics Commission that stems back to 2019. Read more about that here. Full disclosure, I wrote a column calling for Bowman's resignation in 2020. My reasoning for the column had more to do with what I perceived as a conflict of interest.

Illusion or giant Bidens? If you haven't seen this photo by now, the internet is having fun with it. Former President Jimmy Carter, now 96, and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter look frail and tiny compared to what appears to be a pair of giant Bidens. There's a likely explanation, and it has to do with how wide angle lenses distort photos. So we tried to recreate the photo with Cally, Abbey, Cassie and Josue in my office.

What do you think?

Vaccines for kids? Looks like the FDA might soon be approving Pfizer vaccines for 12 to 15-year-olds. Currently, all adults in the United States are eligible for COVID-19 vaccinations.

Going to the movies...
I've been thinking about going to the Star Drive-In here in town. Haven't been in some time, and one of these upcoming weekends they're going to have Mortal Kombat showing. For those my age, it was one of the coolest video games out there... if your parents let you play it. To see it get some play on the big screen would be pretty cool. What's your favorite experience at the Star? And if you haven't been, it's worth checking out.
