We'll drink to that —
The latest buzz is that Montrose will have a new watering hole. Shelter Distilling is moving to Montrose, as staff writer Josue Perez reports.

It's bringing jobs and another tenant to Colorado Outdoors, but also, it will help area grain growers have one more market. A bar and restaurant are planned, on top of the distillery, now based in Mammoth Lakes, California.

This is Katharhynn from the newsroom, who is looking forward to checking out the new business when it opens. Groundbreaking is loosely estimated in the third quarter of this year.

Get ready ... The Montrose County School District is poised to adopt new mascots for Montrose High School and Centennial Middle School.

The current mascots, the Indians and the Braves, must be changed to comply with a recent state law banning the use of Native American mascots. The school board will hold a special session on Tuesday, 6:30 p.m., with a livestream available on the district's Facebook page.
