Good evening and hello!

I'm back with another newsletter and here to shout out Melissa Vogel of Montrose for this photo she took recently.

In the photo is a young bighorn sheep during the early morning at the Colorado National Monument in Mesa County:

Here is another that I think a lot of us had fun with:

A friend of Frank Vanlandingham's, the person who submitted the photo, said, "That's a big mouse!"

It sure is.

You can check out more community photos on our website here.

To see your photo in the community section, send photo submissions to editor@montrosepress.com and put "Community page" in the subject line. Include your name, city and information about the photo.

Also, a shout out to our most notable community page contributors: Vogel, Carol Pyle, Roxanne Morris, Judy Lokey, Ruth Sendecki, Holly von Helms, Liz Blackburn and more. Thank you for sending us your photos!

PGA pro at The Bridges

The Bridges has an assistant PGA professional: Joy Trotter Hartman.

Hartman started in March as The Bridges' assistant pro. Daily Press contributor Stephen Woody caught up with Hartman and wrote about her history around the game. She turned pro in 2012 and experienced tour success thereafter.

Hartman, a teaching pro, is available for golf lessons. Not a bad idea with summer around the corner.

Steve has highlighted other golf happenings in the community, which you can read here.

Shakeup at MHS

Jim Barnhill, Montrose High School's principal since 2009, is departing that post to become operations project manager for Montrose County School District.

Heidi Voehringer will step in as interim principal for the 2022-2023 school year.

Barnhill will help in overseeing the umbrella of departments under operations — facilities, human resources, safety and security, technology and finance.

He will also support management and completion of different projects MCSD has up its sleeve.

The move gives the district a chance to use all available resources to keep its facilities, classrooms and security measures in top shape.

Before you go...

This weekend you can see "Family Camp" and "Dog" at the San Juan Cinema. The Fox is showing "Top Gun: Maverick" in two screens and "Jurassic World Dominion" in the penthouse.

"Dominion," which is the third installment of the "Jurassic World" series, has been getting lukewarm reviews, but I'm still going to see it this weekend. We're watching it for the dinosaurs anyway, right?

The Star Drive-In is playing "Dominion" and "Top Gun: Maverick" this weekend. Talk about a blast from the past!

Have a great weekend.
