The high cost of childcare

Working parents have it tough. According to some figures, the average cost of childcare hovers at around $15,000 per year in Colorado. Fortune reports that childcare costs rose by as much as 41% during the pandemic.

In Montrose, the need for childcare is high and spaces are limited. That's why it's good news to hear the local Maslow Academy is expanding into 6,000 square feet at Colorado Outdoors — and adding 70 new spots for childcare. In case you missed it, Josue Perez breaks it all down here.

This is Katharhynn from the newsroom, wishing working parents the best.

Did you ever lose a bet?

The good-natured Dustin Martinez did, to his Fantasy Football rival, Cass Hamrick. Martinez gamely put on the requisite unicorn suit and stood on Main Street Saturday.

Thanks for the chuckle, Dustin! (You look awesome.)
