Good afternoon, Montrose! Today, the weather is beautiful, and it's good to think spring is right around the corner.

I was impressed by the turnout at the Meat-In event over the weekend. Hundreds showed up in support of Colorado ag workers at Castle Auto Sales Saturday. It was the second year in a row for the event, and it was in response to Gov. Jared Polis' "Meat Out Day" declaration. "It felt to us ag producers like a slap in the face," said Todd Stewart, the president of the Uncompahgre Cattlemen's Association. Below are Stewart, left, and Todd Castle, right, the association's vice president.

Denver Broncos fans should be thrilled with their new QB. The truth is, before Russell Wilson came to town, the Broncos didn't have a quarterback who could bring out the potential of an incredibly talented roster of players.

Wilson brings to the Broncos their first legitimate scrambling quarterback since John Elway. Cutler and Tebow can't hold a candle to Wilson's abilities. He throws as pretty a deep ball as exists, and he's tough to get hands on in the pocket. On top of that, he's a guy who has the intangibles... and he's won a Super Bowl.

Back to local... The family of the Montrose man killed by a New Mexico park ranger is keeping up efforts to bring awareness to his death and to end federal qualified immunity.

The family has sued the US Dept. of the Interior/National Park Service. Among the complaints listed in the suit, one was the issue of 26 seconds of missing body camera footage.

And you might have seen the notice in yesterday's newsletter about our delivery going to mail. If you subscribe to the paper and you're one of several affected paper routes, you won't start receiving your paper in the mail until Tuesday. Saturday, March 26, you should still get your paper the way you normally do.

And you should also get an insert in your paper this week that lets you know whether you're affected.
