Good afternoon, Montrose! Justin here delivering your newsletter, and we have just a couple notes on this Hump Day.

Our first one relates to our state parks. In recent years, Colorado's state parks and other outdoor areas have seen a huge influx of visitors, due to the pandemic and other factors. Though, with that comes the challenge of managing and preserving wildlife.

"We are in one of the really growing-demand and growing recreation, growing conversation areas about how do we balance recreation and wildlife," Area Wildlife Manager Rachel Sralla said, during Colorado Parks and Wildlife's recent Sportspersons' Caucus for Montrose.

As far as manufacturing goes, Montrose is lucky to have an innovator. You've read about them in our paper before, but Geyser Systems has now been named a finalist for Innovative Product of the Year in the 2022 Colorado Manufacturer Awards.

They invented a portable shower that conserves water and is far more efficient than a normal portable shower you may have bought for a camping trip.

And a neat note, they're our neighbors here at the Montrose Daily Press. We even have a shed on our property we've rented to them to help with their manufacturing and storage. They're a very cool business with a good story, and you should read more about them in the link above.

This one is a freebie. I was scrolling through Twitter and saw this.

These days, there's plenty to fret about, and while kindergartners can't solve your problems, there's something about listening to encouraging words from a little kid that makes things a little more hopeful.

If you call, the number will send you to a phone tree, and you'll be able to choose from different kinds of encouraging words. Read more about the project here.
