It was subtle, but I noticed it It's happened more and more lately. A preseason football game playing while I'm working at the bar. Tests about a real college football game blowing up my group chats (let's go 'Cane's, by the way." A distinctly fall breeze blowing past me while walking my friend's dog.
On Monday, while trolling the Black Canyon for stock photos, I saw it: yellow leaves.
My pumpkin spice friends are excited, and my seasonal depression, a stranger when I lived in Miami, does too.
The sun might be setting early, but I'm trying to look on the bright side. Earlier nights mean less money spent on sunscreen. When it gets really cold, hitting the weights or the bjj mats won't feel like a trade-off on the weekends with incredible outdoor activities– because ya girl does not do these when it gets cold.
And, in a few weeks, we should have some short-lived but incredible foliage, and that's something to look forward to.
For now, I'm planning the best use of my vacation time to ensure I'm on a beach with a beer in my hand the second snow hits the ground.
