Raise a stein... With fall settling in, Montrose businesses and organizations are taking advantage of the crisp weather and seasonal harvest...and this means beer– for a cause. Last weekend was Southwest Fresh Fest, which showcased only beer made from freshly-harvested hops. I didn't get a chance to go, but I was definitely jealous. This coming weekend is Oktoberfest, and even more breweries are showing up– about 15 from around the area. The festival benefits All Points Transit, which provides transportation services throughout the Western Slope including rides to medical appointments and for seniors. We've reported recently that they're planning on expanding their coverage, and now offer a Montrose-Olathe-Delta route during the week that stops at Technical College of the Rockies and a handful of other destinations throughout the three municipalities. They're also planning a Ouray route, though getting that one rolling has been a slow process due to CDOT delays.
