‘Water is the issue.’ County approves drilling to inform ways to address Kinikin Road woes

Montrose County has been given wildly different figures for how much it will take to repair and reopen Kinikin Road, closed since significant sloughing and damage was verified in 2023. Commissioners on Wednesday voted to go ahead and spend some money on geotechnical drilling and examination of waterflow to get a firm grip on what needs to be done — a move they said would also help nail down the price of fully addressing the damage.

Bluegrass & beyond — Telluride festival offers up range of music, numerous collaborations [PHOTOS]

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival unfolded over the weekend, bringing four days of music to the mountain community. 


Performers at this year's festival — the 53rd annual — included Tedeschi Trucks Band, Shakey Graves, Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, Gregory Alan Isakov, Greensky Bluegrass, Béla Fleck, Watchhouse Duo, Sierra Hull, Jake Shimabukuro, Peter Rowan and a whole lot more.
