INAUGURATION PREPARATION: No specific, known threats exist toward the State Capitol, officials said, but precautions are being taken in light of a nationwide advisory concerning Inauguration Day on Jan. 20.
After violence at the U.S. Capitol last week that resulted in five deaths, the FBI put states on notice that their capitol buildings could become the center of a storm when Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are, respectively, sworn in as president and vice president.
The FBI in Denver said it is establishing a command post to gather intelligence and coordinate with state and local partners on potential threats, as was done during the presidential election.

COVID IMPACTS LEARNING: The novel coronavirus continues to impact students and staff in the Montrose County School District as more positive cases of the virus are confirmed.
The Montrose and Johnson Early Childhood Center (ECC) campuses will temporarily transition to remote learning due to COVID-19 staffing impacts, increasing student positive cases, and a lack of substitute staff coverage.
Olathe Middle/High School has reported three students tested positive this week, with 28 students in quarantine.

12 years ago:US Airways pilot Capt. Chesley (Sully) Sullenberger did not think that Jan. 15, 2009, was the day he would meet his maker. Nor did he know the headlines he would make by safely landing the airplane.
Sully's actions would later be recognized in the motion picture film 'Sully,' starring Tom Hanks in 2016. Watch the movie trailer here.
