Posse issues funding appeal: The Montrose County Sheriff's Posse weathered COVID-19 in 2020, but the all-volunteer organization was busy helping the county respond to the pandemic, as well as with several wildfires and its customary search and rescue operations.

1,200 pounds: Montrose County Democratic Party members load 1,200 pounds of nonperishable food from the first week of the food drive. They will be accepting donations at their office through the end of the month.
January is one of the slower months as far as donations to Sharing Ministries in Montrose, which is why the MCDP partnered with Sharing Ministries to organize a January Food Drive.

Rubber duckies: These cheerful yellow toys have come a long way since they were first released as a chew toy for children. Rubber Duckie even appeared on Sesame Street as a friend of Ernie and Big Bird in a February 1970 episode.
Today we celebrate National Rubber Ducky Day, which is also Rubber Duckie's birthday, according to a 1973 Sesame Street calendar.
