A sneak peek at tomorrow's print ediiton of the Montrose Daily Press ...

In tomorrow's print edition of the Montrose Daily Press, you can read about how a fallen wildfire firefighter was honored with a processional through town, following a fatal helicopter crash in to Silverjack Reservoir; and also about the twists of a local legal case involving a hit-and-run of a man know locally for carrying a cross along the roadside; as well as about a trio of new hotels slated for the Colorado Outdoors complex.

Also in tomorrow's print edition, you can read about the return of a downtown staple: the sno-cone trolley. After a brief hiatus, the trolley has returned, with new owners who really appreciate a good sno-cone. Read about Montrose SnoBalls, and then go have a cone.

Have a Good One,

DART dodges a bullet; Montrose City Council rectifies budget typo, restores funding; Woodden rails against 'DART-arians'

Montrose’s Development and Revitalization Team, or DART, learned Tuesday that its funding, having been wiped out due to a typo in the budget, will be restored — but not before city council member Adam Woodden made the organization sweat through his ill-fated attempt to use the clerical error as an opportunistic shakedown.
“My concern is not with the data entry,” Woodden said. “But I see this as an opportunity to speak out about the criticism I have begun to receive about the DART program. Some business owners have shared with me how they have become frustrated with the culture of these DART-arian members.”
In the final budget approved by city council, DART was supposed to receive more than $270,000 for a “professional services contract” line item that funds grants for building and small business owners — think facade improvements, murals and emergency commercial kitchen repair grants — as well as artists and performers at various DART events.
