THE WOLVES ARE BACK,
and it's official now, as both supporters and opponents called the ballot initiative done with 90% of the vote reported. It was easily the closest vote for a Colorado statewide ballot initiative in 2020. Proposition 114 has been debated for more than a year. Before the results rolled out today, we printed this: the perspective of a Montrose rancher who sees the wolves as a threat to ranching and to public safety.

U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree selected
We will have coverage of the event today — and in tomorrow's paper — as the Christmas Tree for the lawn of the U.S. Capitol in Washington will be cut down shortly. The GMUG provided the tree last year as well.

National Men Make Dinner Day
In case you were wondering, it's the turn for hubby (or son, or grandpa, or uncle, etc.) to make dinner tonight. It's a real thing. And no barbecuing is allowed (that doesn't seem fair). Some other rules are that the man must do the grocery shopping, use more than four ingredients and cook using at least one cooking utensil other than a fork... Whichever woman made this an unofficial holiday must have really needed a night off.
