ELECTION RESULTS:
It's over, well sort of. Election Day was a busy day for the newsroom, but we've got you covered on how the day unfolded across Montrose County and Colorado. Visit our website for all the latest 2020 General Election updates as votes continue to be counted. Here are a few races of note:
Hickenlooper wins Senate: Soon after polls closed, projections determined a flipped seat in the U.S. Senate.
Former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper defeated Republican incumbent Sen. Cory Gardner Tuesday, while Montrose County voted strongly against the Democratic challenger.
Boebert mounts another victory: Lauren Boebert celebrated her victory Tuesday after she notched a win over Democratic former state legislator Diane Mitsch Bush.

CHECK YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE: No seriously, today's all about checking your stress levels as the holiday season quickly approaches, not to mention the stress associated with the 2020 General Election.
Nov. 4 is Check Your Blood Pressure Day and is celebrated annually. Do you know what yours is?
Did you know that blood pressure tends to increase with age? While this doesn't mean it is normal, it's important to visit with your doctor.

CIVIC DUTY: Montrose County employed 25 to 30 election workers for the 2020 presidential election, Montrose County Clerk and Recorder Tressa Guynes said. Several election veterans returned to man their posts, and unlike any other year, more workers were brought in.
"This is the biggest election we've ever had," she said. " ... because it's so much bigger, we brought more (workers) in."
Guynes said volunteer interest was high this year as citizens helped at the polls.

COVID-19 POSITIVE:
Tuesday, Nov. 3, the Montrose County School District COVID-19 Response Team received confirmation that a staff member at Montrose High School (MHS) tested positive for COVID-19.
Nine MHS staff members and two MHS students need to quarantine through Friday, Nov. 6, and seek COVID-19 testing.
