ANGEL TREE PROGRAM: With Christmas fast approaching, angels throughout Montrose are in need of adoption.
The Angel Tree project, an annual effort to provide for Montrose children in need, has been going on for about 15 years, sponsored largely by Cobble Creek golf course residents, as well as other organizations in the community.
Each year, the project receives statistical information from various programs in Montrose that serve the underserved, such as Human Services, Haven House, Dolphin House, Partners in Integrated Care (PIC), and any other referrals for children whose families would not be able to provide Christmas for them due to financial hardship.

FORGET-ME-NOT DAY: Have you been meaning to call a family member, friend or loved one for awhile, but just haven't done it yet? Well, make plans to call that person today as we celebrate National Forget-Me-Not Day.
This holiday was also created to remember the sacrifices returning soldiers have made, since it's first celebration in 1921. What better way to start expressing thanks ahead of Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
If you need some inspiration, here are some ways to celebrate:
- Send Forget-Me-Not Day Ecards to everyone on your email address book
- Send Forget-Me-Not flowers to people you haven't seen in a while.
- Give Forget-Me-Not flower seed packets to family and friends.
- Call people you haven't seen in a while and wish them a happy National Forget Me Not Day.

FUN FOOD FACT: High-frequency sounds enhance the sweetness in food, while low frequencies bring out the bitterness.
