Hello, Montrose! Justin from the newsroom here wishing you a happy fall Thursday and filling in for Cassie, who normally sends your Thursday newsletter. She's taken a well-earned vacation. I've gotten quite a few fall color submissions, and this one is one of my favorite. Thank-you to Sharon Lorenzen for sending it in. I'll be back with another newsletter tomorrow.

Horror Show: As I told you last Friday, I went up to the Telluride Horror Show, a three-day horror movie festival over the weekend. It was a lot of fun, and I recommend it next year for anyone who hasn't been and likes a scream or two. My favorite was probably "The Offering," a new film by Oliver Park about Abyzou, the child-taker demon in Jewish faith. It's full of hasidic Jewish imagery and symbolism and has lots of jumps. Overall, very spooky and very fun! Check out the trailer. It should be streaming in the new year. Another favorite was "The Harbinger," another movie featuring a demon, though this one was purely created by the director, Andy Milton. It takes place at the height of the pandemic and really plays on some of those claustrophobic feelings we had when everything was in lockdown. Here's the trailer from that one. Below is Milton speaking to the audience after the movie.
Sara, who went up to the festival with me, took this one below, of the spooky campfire story-telling in the park Friday night.
