Local roundup Montrose County Chipeta Hwy 550 signal project: Beginning next Monday (Nov. 21), the county and project team are implementing a winter shutdown for the project at the intersection of Chipeta Rd. and Hwy 550. It's expected to reconvene mid-January and signals should be online in early February. The project will likely wrap, weather permitting, in late April. General Election ballots finish curing at 11:59 p.m. tonight: This means you have until that time to fix any issues with your ballot. Our local youth orchestra, the Youth Valley Orchestra, is performing its annual (and free) "Classics by Candlelight" concert this Saturday at the Delta Family Center auditorium, 7 p.m. A national nonprofit, Homes for our Troops, is building a home for a local veteran: Army First Sergeant David Wallace was honored with a community kickoff event signifying the first day of construction on the veteran's future specially adapted home.
