BIg Fish in Hinsdale County

In tomorrow's edition of the Montrose Daily Press we're publishing a story about the record brook trout taken out of Waterdog Lake on Oct 8. I'll let you read about the details here.
Here's the photo of angler Matt Smiley of Lake City and his hog of a fish. Awesome beard too Matt!

The Montrose Community dinners team is still looking for volunteers for next week's festivities.
If you're wondering what it takes to prepare the meal here's a throwback story from 2019. Pre-pandemic days so a lot has changed. I don't recall if they did takeout back then.
If you would like to volunteer or donate call 970-318-6759 or visit montrosecommunitydinners.com.

Finally, the Colorado House District 3 is still too close to call. It's shocking given that with redistricting Republican Incumbent Lauren Boebert should have walked away with an easy victory. The national results are showing that firebrand politics aren't in vogue anymore.
I dug into some numbers comparing Boebert's results with State House races. It was eye opening.
Take a look for yourself.
