If the Montrose wrestling team used Aadin Gonzales as a point of reference in the next few years, the Red Hawks will be in good shape on the mat.The junior ended his season on the floor at Ball Arena the same way he ended the two previous seasons. He stood on the podium, and he received a medal as a state placer.

NOTES FROM THE MUSEUM: The pioneers of Fort Crawford

What an enterprising young man James A. Fenlon was when he followed the soldiers to the Uncompahgre Valley. According to the newspaper, James came here with the soldiers in 1879 and had taken quite an active part in the development of the Valley from that time on. He was the local postmaster for both the settlement of Uncompahgre and Fort Crawford.
