These kids rock

High school was fun and all, but every once in a while I get a little jealous reporting some of the sports stories. My high school certainly didn't have a rock climbing  or mountain biking team, and 16-year-old me would have loved one.

But, I'm so happy for the kids of Montrose County that MHS does.

This weekend, 19 Red Hawks are heading to Denver to represent the school's climbing team at State- the largest team the program has ever sent. More on that in Saturday's paper.

And, with help from the Rec District, Montrose's boasted its biggest middle school climbing team yet.

As a reporter, I love to see the community and especially the students thrive, and it makes me so happy to be able to write about programs like this giving local kids great opportuntiies.

Good luck Red Hawks!
Cheers,
Kylea from the Newsroom
