Housing sales boom, but for how long? Late trends represent a strong market in Montrose due to the influx of homeowners moving to the area, but questions remain on if the trend will last, especially if inventory decreases at high rates. The median sales price for single-family homes in Montrose has reached $271,823, a 7.5% increase from the same timeframe last year. Townhouse/condos have plateaued at $225,000 on the year-to-date numbers, but in August, the median sales price were listed at $256,975, a 35.3% increase from August 2019.
With the uncertainty about the effects of COVID-19 on the economy, it's difficult to predict what the forecast looks like for the real estate market.

TODAY IN HISTORY: On Sept. 16, 1620, the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth, England toward America. For 66 days, 102 passengers lived aboard the ship in hopes of seeking fortune and religious freedom in the new land.
While the pilgrims intended to land at Virginia, storms and winds blew them north to Cape Cod where they settled in Plymouth. To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the Pilgrim's voyage, Mayflower II, Plimoth's full-scale reproduction of the tall ship is docked at State Pier in Pilgrim Memorial State Park.
