ImageTHURSDAY THROWBACK: On Sept. 21, 2017, the Montrose High School boys soccer team forced a draw against the Durango Demons.
After being down 3-1 to the Demons at halftime, the Indians scored two unanswered goals in the second to force the stalemate. Coach Jim Pavlich was pleased how his defense shutout Durango for the rest of the match.
"In the second half, I was really proud of my defense, Brett Byers, Chris Padilla, and Osmar (Murillo) — they played a heck of a game."

SNO-CAT RECOVERED: Volunteers on a second attempt raised from Island Lake the Sno-Cat that in 2019 carried two Delta County men to their deaths when it went through the ice.
Adventures With Purpose brought the 15,000-pound machine up from the bottom of the lake on Tuesday, after an earlier attempt this year was unsuccessful.

COUNTY COVID RESTRICTIONS: The data justify Montrose County being taken down to a less restrictive notch on the state's "dial framework" for COVID-19, Dr. Joe Adragna told commissioners Tuesday.
Commissioners voted unanimously to submit a letter to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, requesting to be designated at "Level 1" on the CDPHE's COVID-19 dial framework under the Safer at Home orders. The orders restrict certain business operations and public gatherings, in response to the declared pandemic over the viral illness that has killed an estimated 200,000 Americans.
