NO REPRESENTATION: This year's Club 20 debates will not include a debate between U.S. House candidates for the 3rd District, because neither candidate plans to attend.
Republican contender Lauren Boebert opted out, Club 20 announced Wednesday, saying the candidate's campaign wanted questions in advance and to provide a pre-recorded message.
Diane Mitsch Bush's campaign said that she has been limiting in-person events because of concerns over COVID-19. She has been campaigning through remote technology, except in situations where proper social distancing procedures can be maintained. Any suggestion she is "hiding" is false, Diane For Colorado CD3 communications director Caleb Cade said.

AN IMPORTANT TEAM MEMBER: Newspaper Carrier Day is celebrated the first Friday of September to honor everyone who delivers or delivered the news. While this job was primarily held by children — called Newsies — over time, adults began to work in the position, delivering newspapers from their vehicles.
See Saturday's Montrose Daily Press Focus for a story on the MDP's carriers.
As the carriers deliver the Montrose Daily Press today, or any day, show the carriers appreciation with a simple thank you.

REMEMBERING 9/11: In a week, Americans across the country will remember people who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. As we reflect on where we were that day, the Montrose Daily Press would like to honor local people's stories. If you or someone you know was directly affected by the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, please share your story with us by emailing editor@montrosepress.com.
