Good afternoon and Happy Veterans Day!

Attention local veterans!

During halftime of this Friday's football game at Montrose High School between Montrose and Denver South, veterans will be honored for their service.

Additionally, each veteran and one guest per, that attends the game will receive a free pregame tailgate meal, as well as free entrance into the game.

Welcome Home Alliance for Veterans is presenting the event and it's sponsored by MHS STUCO, MHS ROTC, MHS Catering and Project Unify and Lulac.

See you there Montrose veterans!

Help on the way: The Museum of the Moutain West and its executive director, Richard Fike (above), recently received an $18,000 grant, which will be used in the search to hire a deputy executive director.

The museum, until early October, was welcoming 70 to 90 visitors a day since early summer. The hope is the position will help alleviate Fike's busy workload.

The museum also saw some hefty recognition this year. Read more about it in this column from MDP contributor Stephen Woody.

- Annie Beall, housing advocate

The livestream, which can be viewed on Facebook, NABUR and our website, will start at 6 p.m. Watch Part I here.

Here comes Yurt: I received this picture from David Dragoo, founder of Mayfly Outdoors, last week. The new facility for Colorado Yurt is going up within Colorado Outdoors.

It's likely a welcome site for Colorado Yurt owners John and Kelly Gibson, who broke ground in July. Commodity prices have been steadily rising this year, which has affected horizontal site improvement costs for the Flex Buildings.

General contractor Alcorn Construction is targeting a May 30, 2022 date for completion of Colorado Yurt's new headquarters.

Stay tuned for the latest updates on projects underway within Colorado Outdoors!
