DMEA deals with 'targeted effort' on its data| From the Newsroom

Data security hits home. Bad news from DMEA. Last week, the electric co-op learned of what it's calling a "targeted effort" get at data on its internal network, and the cooperative is now knee-deep in a forensic investigation. The incident remains under investigation and that limits what DMEA representatives can say, but the co-op says its electric grid and internet services (through Elevate) are not affected. Customers are unable to make online payments; accordingly, DMEA is not disconnecting services for non-payment at this time. Stay tuned to the Montrose Daily Press for more.
