Her name was Susan. Katharhynn Heidelberg, who's been on the story just about as long as she's been with the Daily Press, got to break the news today that Windy Point Jane Doe has been identified as a long-missing Washington woman.

Windy Point Jane Doe, the name given to Susan Hoppes when investigators couldn't identify her remains, was finally ID'd thanks to new technology. Read the fascinating story here.



Getcha popcorn ready: I told you in yesterday's newsletter that it looked like San Juan Cinema would be reopening. Well, now it is written. Josue Perez had the story and detailed the Hunter family's decision to reopen The Fox's sister theater thanks to an increase in moviegoing traffic.



Free concert at the amphitheater: If you haven't made it to an event over at our new amphitheater yet, you should check it out. The Rotary Amphitheater, located at Cerise Park, has hosted shows, benefits, beerfests and more.

This Sunday, rock band Crazy Like a Fox will be playing, with food trucks and a beer garden to complete the experience. Proceeds benefit the high school's Rotary Interact Club. The fun goes from 1 to 7 p.m. Check out the Visit Montrose Facebook page for more.



Magic Circle presents... Fiddler on the Roof. It opens this weekend, May 13. The cast have had two years to think about this one, as it was supposed to debut in May 2020 but was canceled amid the pandemic.
