My dream winter trip

Would be spending a few weeks in Europe, galavanting around the continent's famous Christmas markets. I just love the lights, local food and art, and the idea of walking around with a souvenier mug filled with mulled wine.

Of course, that trip would need to include a few days of snowboarding in the A, because I like well-rounded vacations.

It will probably be a while before I get to be the kind of person that holidays in Europe. Yes, I just used "holiday" as a verb, and it felt great.

But, holiday markets are popping up all over the world, inspired by the markets of Germany and surrounding countries.

Last weekend I went up to Denver to visit a friend, and we hit up the social media-recommended Christkindlmarket downtown. It was sweet, merry, and featured live music along with mugs and mulled wine, along with a view of the city in the background.

Still not quite Europe, but for now it will do. I guess the snowboard part of my plan will have to wait, but hopefully not for long.
