Hot rods for hot weather This weekend brought all the classics to town — cars and trucks, that is, when the Black Canyon Classic Colorful Colorado Car, Rod and Truck show rolled back into town for a jam-packed day. Dozens of sharp-looking vehicles set up for your peepers at Cerise Park Saturday, then several headed to our very own Star Drive-in for A Back to the 60s Night. It was a great showing, as always, if the photos by Michaela Kahle are any indication. Take a gander at this one, and check out the whole gallery online. (Michaela Kahle) If you missed the fun this weekend, not to worry — there's a lot more on tap. On Thursday, it's a food truck festival right here downtown, at Block 93, from 5 - 9 on Thursday. Food trucks, music, beer — all the good stuff. Block 93 is basically behind Mosaic (and mere steps from our new office!) You can get a good view of the brand-new building mural in the alley, too. Saturday, also downtown, is Rock the Block, with Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans. It's from 10 - 4, so come have a stroll and see what our many nonprofits are up to, and enjoy a host of fun events, demonstrations, more. Get the lowdown on upcoming events by clicking here. Enjoy your week, Montrose and all readers! — Katharhynn, from the Newsroom |
