Hot rods for hot weather

This weekend brought all the classics to town — cars and trucks, that is, when the Black Canyon Classic Colorful Colorado Car, Rod and Truck show rolled back into town for a jam-packed day.

Dozens of sharp-looking vehicles set up for your peepers at Cerise Park Saturday, then several headed to our very own Star Drive-in for A Back to the 60s Night.

It was a great showing, as always, if the photos by Michaela Kahle are any indication.

Take a gander at this one, and check out the whole gallery online.

If you missed the fun this weekend, not to worry — there's a lot more on tap. On Thursday, it's a food truck festival right here downtown, at Block 93, from 5 - 9 on Thursday. Food trucks, music, beer — all the good stuff. Block 93 is basically behind Mosaic (and mere steps from our new office!) You can get a good view of the brand-new building mural in the alley, too.

Saturday, also downtown, is Rock the Block, with Habitat for Humanity of the San Juans. It's from 10 - 4, so come have a stroll and see what our many nonprofits are up to, and enjoy a host of fun events, demonstrations, more.

Enjoy your week, Montrose and all readers!

There he is again, out in the woods, chewing up his words like yesterday's ham fat and filming a selfie-video. He doesn't want to be there, but somebody has to do it.
