Hot Springs & Hotels

I've lived on the Western Slope for three years now.

But somehow, last weekend was the first time I ever went to the Ouray Hot Springs. I've been to plenty of hot springs in Ouray of course, but never the actual Ouray town spot.

I know they've had issues with hot water in the past, but it was definitely warm enough for us, and a great way to spend a fall evening.

After, we hit the historic St. Elmo Hotel and Tavern, which I've never been inside either. Once we sat down, we quickly learned the place has a new tie to Montrose.

Jason Raible and Clay Bales, the guys who opened the Rathbone just over a year ago, took over the spot this summer.

The menu and interior are different but similar, and it's easy to see the two buildings being under the same ownership. I plan to hop on the phone with them tomorrow, so stay tuned for the full scoop.

Cheers,
Kylea from the newsroom
