| You can save a life Nobody likes to talk about suicide — but we need to, because it is an unfortunate reality. And, as Kylea Henseler detailed in her Saturday story 'You're not alone,' getting comfortable talking about it can spur others to reach out for help: "If you are concerned about somebody and that thought has popped into your head, there's a 1,000% chance it's popped into their head too," (Jamie Hurst, Tri-County Health Network) continued. "People often think, 'I don't want to put the idea in their head. I don't want to ask about it.' But that is just not how it works, and by asking about it, you're letting them get out of the loneliness of their head, of thinking they're the only ones." I know this is a heavy topic for a Monday — it is for any day. But again, suicide is a reality and our numbers are high on the Western Slope.
