Get ready to run (or walk)

Happy Monday, Montrose and beyond! Blustery Saturday gave way to a fall-day stunner on Sunday, and I hope this coming weekend is good weather for getting outside, because Oct. 11 is a day you can put your feet to the pavement for a good cause. Bosom Buddies Walk/Run returns for the 33rd year at the Pavilion, taking off at 9 a.m. You can visit bosombuddiesswc.org for full details, and register at the event at 8 a.m., in advance of the 9 a.m. start.

The walk helps Bosom Buddies support local breast cancer patients. Breast cancer probably has touched someone you know: 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with it in her lifetime and, although it is much rarer, breast cancer also strikes men. Since forming, Bosom Buddies has helped more than 4,000 people and contributed more than $1 million in medical and educational financial assistance. Give them a hand — and take a 5K stroll/run or  full 10K run for 'em this coming Saturday!
