Elbow room means access

Maybe you remember about two decades ago, when those with cancer had to travel to Junction or further for treatments. That made the San Juan Cancer Center welcome news indeed — and the resource got used! So much so, in fact, that medical oncology was out of space, and there just wasn't room in the building for growth. Montrose Regional Hospital and the health foundation did the next best thing: they acquired a medical building a few blocks away, renovated it, and just last week, introduced  the San Juan Cancer Center Medical Oncology Francie Smiles Infusion Center to the community.

A decent-sized group turned out to see the new facility, and they also got a debriefing on the community health update conducted by Montrose Regional Health. You can read all about the new medical oncology and infusion center right here.

This center is going to be able to serve more patients, and not only those with cancer, but also those whose condition requires infusion treatments. The sad part? That something like this is needed. May you be spared from cancer, and if not, may you be blessed with healing.
