It's sweet corn season! | From the Newsroom

The harvest for the 34th year of Olathe sween corn began this morning.

SWEET, SWEET CORN: Although the festival event was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns, Olathe's famous sweet corn is alive and well. Dozens of workers made the trip from Mexico to help with the harvest. The 34th year of the process began today at 6 a.m., and involves a number of technical elements to bring the corn from stalks to dinner tables.

EVACUATIONS ARE IN EFFECT Monday morning for some San Miguel County residents near the Green Meadows Fire. The fire started in the Green Meadows Lane part of the Telluride Pines neighborhood in Placerville and has burned 62 acres. Firefighters have attained about 50 percent containment as of this morning.
