MCSD staff are going through training sessions to prepare for students to return to the classroom for summer school.

GETTING READY FOR BACK TO SCHOOL:
MCSD teachers and paraprofessionals completed various training sessions to prepare for students to return to the classroom for summer school. Students and employees for the summer sessions (which include READ Act, Early Childhood Center, and special education Extended School Year summer school services) will be screened for temperature and safety precautions will be taken.

AN AGREEMENT MAY BE IN THE WORKS between Delta County Memorial Hospital and a nurse who said she was fired in retaliation for making a sexual harassment complaint. The complaint alleges that a female supervisor made repeated sexual advances toward her starting in 2019, and threatened she would lose her job if anyone found out about it.

WEATHERING THE PANDEMIC: After the cancellation of large gatherings and events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Montrose County Event Center was put to a different use — primarily, as a testing site — but resulted in a loss of income. The county is currently "keeping a close eye" on its finances post-shutdown.
