Roses are red,
Violets are blue.
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.
We've all heard it and the many variations to this poem. Today we celebrate the beauty of language through poetry on National Poetry Day. Well, sort of. The holiday is celebrated annually in the United Kingdom and Ireland on a Thursday in late September or early October. This year's celebration is today, so read a poem or get inspired and write one.

EV STATION COMING: The City of Montrose has partnered with the Delta-Montrose Electric Association to place Montrose's first-ever DC-fast charging station for electric vehicles (EVs) in downtown Montrose.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place Thursday, Oct. 1 at the corner of North First Street and Uncompahgre Avenue with DMEA's CEO Jasen Bronec and Board President Bill Patterson on hand, along with Montrose Mayor Barbara Bynum and City Councilor Roy Anderson. The project will see a total of 10 Level-3 EV charging stations: Two ChargePoint stations and eight Tesla stations.

TEE UP: Posing for a photo after a fifth-straight regional title, the Montrose High School boys golf team was all smiles holding up a plaque that read, "Regional Champion, Boys Golf, 2020 Colorado Class 4A." Celebrating their victory, senior Jordan Jennings, freshman Noah Richmond and sophomores Rocco Manuel and Jake Legg all stood tall at Green Valley Ranch Club in Denver.
Now, the Indians will have a chance at history when they tee off on Monday and Tuesday at Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs, site of the state tournament.
