A LONG LIFE:
That's Sen. John McCain and his mom, Roberta, in 1992. She died Monday at age 108, and that's not a typo. She was born in Oklahoma on Feb. 7, 1912. A week later, Arizona became a state, and her son represented it in Congress for more than 30 years. Gov. Ducey called Roberta McCain "a towering figure in American political and military life for more than half a century. She possessed the same candidness and maverick-streak that Arizonans came to love about her son."

INTERNET ACCESS:
Elevate Fiber won a substantial chunk of funding to build out its fiber network in locations near Cedaredge and rural areas of southwestern Montrose.
The Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs Broadband Board awarded $850,000 for fiber build-out in Beaver Hills, rural Montrose, and $1.2 million for Cedar Mesa, in the Cedaredge area.

GRAB THE MARINADE:
I love the smell of roasting meat on an open flame; there is nothing quite like it. I also love the way different marinades play with the flame to create unique flavors. I like to experiment with marinades inspired by many ethnic cuisines. One day it may be Asian influenced, the next Indian. Latin flavors pop up frequently in my house, and not much beats a good old-fashioned chop house style steak.
