Vaccines for Coloradans 16+ available today: Starting today, all people in Colorado 16 and over are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, a day after the state reached the milestone of 1 million fully vaccinated Coloradans.

In Montrose County, over 21,000 doses have been distributed so far at 8 different providers.

To sign up online at the Walmart, City Market or Safeway pharmacies, just click on the name of the store above. Also, you can use this tool from the CDC to check if the vaccine is in stock. (According to the website, all of them have it in stock right now!)

You can also call the county's public health hotline at (970) 252-4545 to make an appointment over the phone.

The CDC now says that vaccinated Americans can safely travel: The Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced today that fully vaccinated people can now travel domestically and internationally at low risk to themselves.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky condoned fully vaccinated grandparents flying to visit grandchildren in other states without needing to quarantine and get tested before and after travel.

Delta sheriff's sergeant named Red Cross Hero after saving suicidal man: The call could have ended very differently. When Delta County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Travis Lackey and Deputy Jake Hernandez arrived to the Eckert pasture last July, they encountered a man with a gun, who was bent on harming himself.

"Sgt. Lackey acted quickly. He was able to save this man's life," Delta County Sheriff Mark Taylor said Wednesday.

Lackey's quick actions that day ultimately earned him a Western Colorado Red Cross Hero of the Year Award, which he received March 20 during a virtual ceremony presented by CoBank.
