Derek Chauvin found guilty on all three counts: Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who kneeled on George Floyd's neck for nearly 10 minutes outside of a convenience store last summer, has been found guilty of 2nd-degree unintentional murder, 3rd-degree murder and 2nd-degree manslaughter charges. The jury deliberated for 10 hours before reaching the verdict. Chauvin faces a sentencing of up to 40 years in prison. His bail was revoked and he was placed in a segregated housing unit for his safety.

Colorado lawmakers passed the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act in December 2020, which expanded employees' access to paid sick leave. The new regulations do not apply to gig and contract workers.
(United Health Group) $30 million donation to boost health care on the Western Slope: Yesterday, Rocky Mountain Health Plans, a UnitedHealth Group company, announced a $25 million donation to the Rocky Mountain Health Foundation, as well as another $5 million to establish the Healthy Youth-Strong Colorado Fund, in partnership with the Attorney General's Office. "This will really strengthen the reserves in the endowment for the foundation," Patrick Gordon, CEO of Rocky Mountain Health Plans, said. "It's going to be very impactful."
The foundation will distribute funds in support of health equity — more access to health care and behavioral health in underserved communities — and in promotion of STEM education for women and people of color, to help grow and diversify the workforce. Read our full story here.
