Happy Monday, Montrose! Justin here filling in for Katharhynn with your newsletter. (She's enjoying a nice vacation with her family on the Front Range).

I'm noticing that the weather has been cooling down a bit. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come. (Fall in Colorado is my favorite.)

Youth Appreciation Day: This past Saturday, Montrose youth made their way around town to visit local places for free and participate in some educational activities. Above: Bonnie Olea takes a photo of her grandchildren — Kambria, 8; Joseph, 2; and Alayna, 6.

One of the most fun events of the year: The Montrose Food & Wine Festival will kick off this Saturday, Aug. 27, at the Montrose County Event Center. Proceeds benefit the Black Canyon Boys and Girls Club. Tickets here. Above are Abby Sklenar, left, and Taylor Young, enjoying last year's event.
