Back to Ouray
I haven't been to Ouray since I moved closer to work here in Montrose about a month ago. But the past few weekends I've had a chance to bang out a few hikes down South and get a good reminder of how cool it is to live on the Western Slope.

Here in Montrose, we have a National Park, surfing, and some of the best mountain biking trails around. To the north of us is desert, to the south mountains.

And sometimes, that still surprises me. I can head down to Ouray for a weekend, hike a few hours and find myself surrounded by peaks with a view that stretches for miles.

I haven't had a ton of time for linger trips, but my last two hikes up Weehawken Trail and Old Horsethief were enough to keep me in shape– and remind me why I moved 1,000 miles from everyone I knew just because I could.

As much as we love Montrose, we try to feature the surrounding areas in some of our feature content too– because we know, like me, some of y'all are willing to drive for adventure. so, here's some cool view from Ouray.

Cheers,
