Class is in session It's that time of year– target has stocked, and probably sold out of, JanSport backpacks and lots of notebooks. On Instagram, the last few friends I have in college are posting their last First Day of Classes (FDOC) pics on Instagram.
For the second time ever, I'm here in the newsroom, blissfully unaware that for a lot of people, summer just ended,
The start of the school year comes with plenty of news– CMU Tech is starting the semester with a brand new name, and soon we'll report on Technical College of the Rockies' new career-oriented programming.
Both schools received a nice chunk of change from the state so students can attend certificate-based courses in in-demand fields like early childhood education for free, and we'll have more info on that for y'all pretty soon.
Even closer to home, the first year of Universal Preschool is in swing, while the unique Outer Range is meeting demand by adding more programs and age groups.
And as the year rolls on, we'll keep you update, from bringing back our Athlete of the Week feature highlighting local talent to reporting on school board elections and shining a spotlight on the high schools' efforts to expand career-focused education. For now, wishing all the families out there a great start to the year.
