Curating a community soundtrack ...

There are some people who have particularly impressive runs — either long or remarkable or both — and when they are done, all you can do is stand back and say, "wow." We feature two such people in tomorrow's edition of the Montrose Daily Press.

There's Candy Pennetta, who recently retired after 35 years as KVNF's music director. Think about that, for more than three decades she has overseen the musical offerings of the region's public radio station, essentially creating a community soundtrack of sorts and introducing listeners to tons of new music along the way.

Then there's Ben Johnson, who has announced he is stepping down as the head coach of Delta High School's Panthers football team. This after 15 seasons, the last of which saw the Panthers claim their second state football title in school history.

If you'd rather not wait until tomorrow, you can read about Candy here, and Coach Johnson here — may wanna go ahead and check out this free bluegrass show scheduled for Bluecorn Friday night while you're at it.

Have a Good One,

Jeremy Morrison,
managing editor
