To be or not to be?

During a community input meeting Tuesday night, proponents of Montrose Classical Academy celebrated the notion of a classical education, which leans into educational methods and materials rooted in antiquity. Quotes and wisdom from the likes of Thomas Aquinas, Marcus Aurelius and Huck Finn (Mark Twain) were sprinkled into the mix.

Here's another old nugget, this one from Shakespeare, that's probably on the forefront of the mind for MCA supporters: "To be or not to be, that is the question."

The Montrose County School District Board of Education will answer that old question Dec. 10. But first, the public was given a chance last night to let the school board know their thoughts on the matter.

Input was fairly predictable, with proponents lobbying for an increase in school choice and opponents contending that the charter would drain money from the public school system.

It'll be interesting to see where the school board goes with this. You can get the lowdown on last night's community input meeting here.
