Mountain lions appear to be plentiful in the Gunnison Basin, and in overall good health. An ongoing Colorado Parks and Wildlife density study of the big cats on the Western Slope found that in the Gunnison Basin, there were more lions than modeling had predicted.

There are a couple of opportunities this week to catch a  collaborative triple bill featuring Western Slope sirens Gabrielle Louise, Emily Scott Robinson and Caitlin Cannon. The trio performs in Ridgway Nov. 22, then again in Paonia the next evening, Nov. 23. Expect crafty songwriting, spellbinding storytelling, and some seriously witchy harmonies.
