What beats the smell of barbeque?

Not a whole lot. And that's the first thing I noticed walking into the Fairgrounds last Friday: The smell of barbeque, followed by the smell of funnel cakes. And, of course, tons of local vendors and spectators filling the stands to watch the annual rodeo.

Friday was a night full of bull riding and exhibitions, while pro cowboys and cowgirls took the arena Saturday for the official CPRA rodeo.

The week leading up to the event gave so many members of the community, from over 200 4H kids to local crafters and bakers, businesses and farmers a chance to shine. And, it all culminated with dudes getting tossed off bulls and hopefully avoiding concussions.

It was such a fun event to cover and photograph, and it will be awesome to see the CPRA finals return in September.

Cheers,
