J.C. Penney files bankruptcy; Teacher retirement parade held | From the Newsroom

JCPENNEY FILES BANKRUPTCY: Last Friday, J.C. Penney, one of the largest apparel and home retail stores in America, announced it had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This means the store will reorganize its finances through court-supervised proceedings while continuing operations. The future of the Montrose location remains uncertain.

SURPRISE RETIREMENT PARADE: Shawn and Yvonne Lund were enjoying a relaxing Friday night when a parade of vehicles turned down their street. The passengers waved signs congratulating Shawn Lund on his retirement from the Montrose County School District after teaching for 33 years.


COLORADANS HAVE INCREASED ACCESS TO COVID-19 TESTING: The state health department is encouraging everyone with COVID-19 symptoms to get tested, as the state lab has received a significant increase in testing supplies and has adequate processing capacity due to a delivery of more than $159.5 million in new funding to Colorado.
